I watched the video ”What Does Music Mean?” by Bernstein. Bernstein says that music is only music not a story or a word.
Music consists of notes and there is a harmony between the notes. Axis of notes become a beauty then ıt becomes music.If you watch the video, you can remember that in orchestra, there are many different instrunment and the instrunments produce different tones than each others. Do you think that like me how the different instrunments can produce a music with harmony. Lines of the differentiate meet a point that rhytm. They can be different but they produce the notes with same rhytm. They are releated to each others with rhytm. Actually,the relation produce a music which includes beatiful tones with emotions.Likewise, architecture has same points like music.Before the video I raed a part named ”Pure Creation of the Mind” from ”Towards an Architecture ”written by Le Corbusier. ın architecture, there are many realtions like music.Such as, propotion,repetetion,alıghment etc. The relaitons become a beauty with emotions because it is an art like music.In architecture, tehere is always a relationship between elements then the relations become a rhtm.There is a rhytm between the relations like tones in music Elements are designed with harmony and their propotions which is in a order (harmony) becomes architecture.
Music and architecture have a commen point that they are became by realtions. If there is no rhytm between tones, music cannot exist.Likewise, if there is no rhytm between relations such as; repetation,harmony,alighment,proportion etc , architecture cannot exist. They exist and they just exixst they are not for bodys,stories or words.
